New Work Online Exhibition: Soul Flung Open, the art (under construction) Mixed Media Works from the PAST Baubles & Bibelots Created to Help Others: Donations "Altered Saints" by commission Events and Sightings Inspirations!
I'm a wife and mom from Dallas, Texas, who paints and creates mixed media works. Welcome to my web site where you can see examples of my past work as well as work that is available for sale.

I have a BA in Art History from Texas Christian University and even though I turned away from a degree in fine art after struggling in the studio, it wasn't only because I was intimidated and fearful. With my first art history class, I fell deeply in love with the stories behind great works of art and the lives of the artists who created them. I have been fortunate to work with two art museums and to volunteer time with an art gallery, as well.

My pieces begin as a way for me to grow in spirit and connect with life. I complete my work through many techniques including painting, drawing, photography, assemblage and collage.

Participation in several group shows and so far, one juried show, has provided me with just enough experience to know I love doing this. My most important venues come through raising money and awareness for important causes. Women for Women International, CONTACT Crisis Line, Art for Darfur and Chase's Place are just a few organizations I have been blessed to donate work to.

"Soul Flung Open" is my blog where I explore and share the spiritual side of current culture. If like me, you feed your soul through art, music, film, literature and even, through pop culture, you might like it.

I would be unable to pursue this work without the love and support from my awesome husband, Brian, and our two beautiful daughters.

I wish you many blessings,
Ashley
